Lyrics

The Fall Of 86
Roy Hurd

I left the Adirondacks in the fall of 86
I had some lost and broken dreams that I had to find and fix
I saddled up my pony and I turned his nose south
Said a thankful prayer and I left there with a smile on my mouth

Chorus:
There’s a hawk in the sky
With a wandering eye
Wolves run wild in the snow
Yes I do love my home when it comes time to roam
I just pack my sleeping sack and I go

Days and nights of riding hard I came to Nashville town
With it’s late night bright lite country music sound
I met a damn good singer there his name is Jimmy Gray
We shared some songs and stories then I rode on my way

Repeat Chorus:

The beauty and the magic of New Mexico
Home of the Pueblo and the double rainbow
Many earth minded lessons through the kindness of a friend
I do my best to share those teachings in every way I can

Repeat Chorus:

Now I’m back in these mountains my cabin in the pines
Where the trees and the wing dance together all the time
Hawk still flies wolves still run
I know my traveling days are never done

Repeat Chorus:

There’s a hawk in the sky
With one diamond eye
Wolves run wild in that snow
Yes I do love my home when it comes time to roam
I just pack my sleeping sack and I go

I just pack my sleeping sack and I go
